Dr Dalia Bedewy is an Associate Professor of Psychology and Manager of the Counseling Unit at Ajman University and she is an assistant professor at Tanta University, Egypt. She has received several grants and fellowships such as the FLTA program from the Fulbright Commission in Egypt to the USA, and the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education in Egypt to serve as a visiting scholar at the University of South Florida and Oklahoma State University in the USA, as well as a grant to the university of Cosenza in Italy funded by the Italian higher ministry of Education. She has also published research papers that tackled topics such as school violence, test anxiety, aggressive behavior, working memory, language processing and production, and phonological encoding.
Dalia Bedewy is co-author of a widely used scale (PAS) scale: Perception of Academic Stress. In addition, she is working on developing another scale to measure anxiety.
Ms. Sahar F. Makky is a senior lecturer and faculty member in the Architecture department at the College of Architecture, Art, and Design. Her dedication lies in creating timeless architecture and imparting knowledge, particularly in the areas of sustainability and the green economy. Over the years, she has actively participated in national and international teams focused on sustainable architecture, well-being competitions, and workshops. She has also been deeply involved in social community services and volunteer work, especially related to women's empowerment. In 2018, she was honored as the best faculty member in Services at AU, in addition to receiving various awards and certificates. She is an active member of prestigious organizations such as the Architectural Heritage Society, ICOM, Project Management Institute, and the Women Engineers Committee of the Society of Engineers UAE. Furthermore, she holds the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification.
Dr Divya Gopinath is an assistant professor in the Division of Basic Medical and Dental Sciences Dept, College of Dentistry. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Dentistry (BDS) from Calicut University, India, and a Master's in Dentistry (MDS) in Oral Pathology and Microbiology from the University of Kerala, India. Later she was awarded a scholarship to pursue an MPhil in Molecular virology from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Hong Kong, followed by a Ph.D. from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Hong Kong. She has more than 10 years of academic/ research experience and has more than 50 peer-reviewed publications in Tier 1 and Tier 2 journals to her credit. She has received numerous research awards and grants at national and international levels. Her research interests mainly focus on exploring the relationship between microorganisms and oral diseases and Evidence-based dentistry/oral medicine. She is highly committed to furthering the advancement of women in research and academics.
Dr. Maryam Amirrad is a Pediatrician, Educator, and Researcher. She had her Pediatric specialty from the RCPCH- UK. She was elected to Fellowship from RCPCH-UK in recognition of her attainment of a high standard of education and training and her commitment to the health and welfare of children. She got her PID Diploma from the University of Oxford (UK). She is a committed healthcare professional with over two decades of experience in Medical Pediatrics. She was granted several appreciation awards from MOHAP. She has an MEd from the University of Ottawa and a Clinical Research Certificate from McMaster University.

Dr. Marya is Serving as the Head of Content Strategy and Media Relations at Ajman University and holds a Ph.D. with research dedicated to women refugees, I carry forward a commitment to women's empowerment, nurtured through my work with various NGOs, into the sphere of higher education and beyond.
Mrs. Al Amiry completed her MS degree from Maryland University, Baltimore County (UMBC), USA, in Emergency Health Services (EHS), and continued to pursue her second master's (MBA- with merit) from Strathclyde Business School, UK later on. Mrs. Al Amiry has evident diverse experience in both healthcare (as a critical care nurse and later as a paramedic) and academic (as a lecturer) industries- in many countries including Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the USA, and UAE. Her collective work experience counts to 17 years overall, during which she gained a great insight into capacities for improving the work environment, as well as potent soft skills necessary for excellence. She served as the Head of Department at the former Unit of General Studies (UGS) prior to the restructuring, and co-chaired a strategic committee at AU, among other tasks. Alaa is a mom of a lovely girl, Nuwar.
Mawada Abdelmagied is an Assistant Instructor and a passionate MSc student in Pediatric Dentistry at UCL - UK. In 2022, she obtained her M Paed Dent RCSed. With a strong inclination towards research, Mawada has actively contributed to multiple international dental conferences as a speaker, sharing her insights and knowledge in the field. Her dedication to the dental profession is evident through her commitment to enhancing pediatric dental care. When not immersed in the world of dentistry, Mawada enjoys exploring new research avenues and staying updated with the latest advancements in her field. She believes in the power of education and aims to make a meaningful contribution to the improvement of women education practices worldwide.
Tasneem Habib is a Senior Data Analyst for the Office of Institutional Planning and Effectiveness. She is pursuing her Doctorate of Philosophy from University Sains Malaysia in Strategic Management. She holds an MBA in Marketing from India. With a keen interest in deploying and working on United Nations Sustainability Development Goals, her interest lies in empowering women of low socioeconomic status.

Ms. Itemat Sauria is a 4th year student from the College of Architecture. She is passionate about working with people and building an environment where they can talk, work, and empower each other. Hence, she is glad to be a part of the Ajman University Women's Empowerment Council. She is looking forward to all the goals they are bound to achieve, to work and grow together, and to learn from each other's stories and experiences. She will work to build confidence and create an environment that nourishes the hearts and minds of women of all ages.
Hurairah Faatimah Muzammil is a year 2 MD student in the College of Medicine at Ajman University. Her passion is to rise by lifting others. She has been an active campaigner, health and environment enthusiast, and an orator. She is humbled to have been a recipient of the Sheikh Hamdan Award twice, the Sharjah Excellence Award twice, the International Diana Award and to have been featured in various world record books. She is honored to be a part of the AUWEC and aims to serve the community and make a positive impact on the lives of many.
Nazanin Ajam, a second-year student at the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, has a strong interest in volunteering and leadership. Her journey includes participation in a cross-cultural exchange program with the USA, powered by the Stevens initiative. Currently, she is furthering her commitment to leadership through the Climate x Leadership program partnered by UNESCO. She strongly believes that learning is a key skill in empowerment and, as evidence, she is currently mastering her fourth language. While she may not have direct experience in women's empowerment initiatives, she is resolute in weaving its principles into her daily life, recognizing the transformative power of empowering women.
